12" mattress

Exactly what I expected and even more than I needed. This bed is durable and functional. I bought an 8 inch mattress. I had to put an extra 6 inches of mattress under it to make it reach the headboard and the overall effect was great. I recommend everyone buy a mattress that is 12 inches or larger.

This is a beautiful bed frame. There are lamps and sockets on the headboard. It is very durable and the instructions are easy to follow.
